Profile:Riku Fukuzum
Riku Fukusumi graduated from the Music Department of Oita Prefectural Art Midorigaoka High School.
After studying at Elisabeth University of Music, he graduated from the Department of Music in the College of Art at Nihon University, and completed the Master’s Program in Music Art (Instrumental Music – Flute) at the Graduate School of Art, Nihon University.
His master’s thesis was titled "Effective Arranging Techniques and Possibilities for Performing Violin Works on the Flute."
While in high school, he participated in a Japan–Korea cultural exchange program and performed as a member of a flute quartet at Cheonan Chungnam Arts High School in South Korea.
He was awarded First Prize in the High School Woodwind Division of the 43rd Oita Music Competition, Gold Prize in the Woodwind Division of the 39th All Kyushu High School Music Competition, 5th Prize in the High School Flute Division of the 25th Japan Classical Music Competition National Finals, and the Espoir Prize in the Woodwind Age-U Division of the 18th Osaka International Music Competition.
Having been selected through a public performance examination, he appeared as a soloist in the 126th Regular Concert (Solo Concert Series) of the Department of Music, Nihon University College of Art. Upon graduation, he was recommended by the university to perform in the 48th Flute Debut Recital.
At the 16th Oita City Furusato Concert, he performed J. S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 as a soloist with the Oita Symphony Orchestra.
After successfully passing an audition, he was selected to appear in the Japan Federation of Musicians Young Performers Development Project, Recital Series OITA 12.
He has studied flute under Yoshiko Shiga, Tomoyuki Iwashita, Naoko Kirihara, Megumi Nakamura, Takako Hagiwara, and Ayako Takagi, and chamber music under Keiko Bandai, Mikiko Kawamura, and Takako Hagiwara.
Currently, he serves as a part-time lecturer in music (high school and music program) at Mirai Gakuen. As an instructor, he provides lessons to a wide range of students—from school wind ensemble members and music high school and university students to adult learners—and has successfully guided students to admission to prestigious music high schools.
He has also participated in recording projects for groups such as Niji no Conquistador.
In addition, he has appeared in various media programs, including "Yūwaku Wide" (TOS TV Oita), "OITA Yoridori" (OBS Radio), "Neko no Hitai Hodo Wide" (tvk Television Kanagawa), and "Kiss & Ride" (FM Yokohama).


Profile: Saya Otsuka
After attending Oita Prefectural Art Midorigaoka High School, Saya Otsuka graduated from the Piano Course in the Music Department of the Oita Prefectural College of Arts and Culture, and completed the advanced course at the college.
While at school, she appeared in many concerts organized by the college.
Saya Otsuka has studied under Etsuko Murata and Naoko Miyazoe, and is currently a system instructor at Yamaha Music School.
